Daily Blessing

Proverbs 31:10

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far

 above rubies.”

From the very start this woman is praised. She is valued above

anything else. She is capable and intelligent. Her husband

values her and praises her because she praises him. She is a

rare find and should be appreciated and respected. Proverbs 31:10

makes it very clear how  important our role as a woman can be.

Think of the Proverbs 31 woman as a role model. Think of her as a goal to strive for.

A woman that God will help you strive to become if you trust Him and if you are willing to change.

Things to think about:

- How do you treat your husband?

- When words come out of your mouth, are they words of praising or tearing down?

- Would you say you are an encouragement or discouragement to others?

Take inventory on yourself and ask yourself these questions. Think about ways you can change your words to positive and encouraging words. Think of how you can be a blessing to those around you.

Proverbs 31:12

“She comforts, encourages, and does him

only good as long as there is life within her.”

How often do I encourage and comfort my husband?  Since I’ve started this writing on the Proverbs woman, I’ve been mindful to do it.  It’s been a joy, not only for my husband, but also for me.  It’s a wonderful thing to share in his victories and achievements.

Be your husband’s cheerleader.  Think about the words that are coming out of your mouth when you speak to him.  Are your encouraging or discouraging?

Things to think about:

- When was the last time you complimented your husband?

- When words come out of your mouth, are they words of praising or tearing down?

- Would you say you are an encouragement or discouragement to others?

Take inventory on yourself and ask yourself these questions. Think about ways you can change your words to positive and encouraging words. Think of how you can be a blessing to those around you.

Proverbs 31:14

“She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs;

she brings her household’s food from afar.”

I know how difficult it is to feed a family.  The Proverbs 31 woman will find ways to be creative.  Go the extra mile to make a good, healthy and pleasing meals.  I find great recipes online. My favorite site is allrecipes.com where they actually rate their dishes.

Take time to make dinner time with family a special time.  Your family will thank you for it!

Proverbs 31:11

“The heart of her husband trusts in her

confidently and relies on and believes in her

securely, so that he has no lack of gain or need.”

Her husband has much confidence and trust in her.  Trust is what keeps a marriage together.  Unfortunately, our society today lacks these qualities.  When we trust our husbands and they in turn trust us, it increases our confidence level.  He does not lack for things (or someone else).  She brings him security, peace and rest to his soul.

Things to think about:

- Does your husband confidently relies and trust you?  If not why?

- Read 2 Corinthians 3:18.  Read God’s word daily and pray for a transformation into being the kind of woman God intended for you to be.

Proverbs 31:13

“She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing

hands.”

The Proverbs woman keeps busy.  All that she does is for her family and she does it enthusiastically.  These tasks are her ministry.  Her work is not drudgery and she does not complain.

Things to think about:

- When your in the middle of your chores, do you think about how much you are honoring God and your family?

Take inventory on yourself and ask these questions. Think about ways you can change your attitude when doing chores and daily housework.

Proverbs 31:15

“She rises while it is yet night and gets food for her

household and assigns her maids their tasks.”

Do you plan your day?  If you don’t, it would be helpful if you start planning.  Prepare a schedule and try to be disciplined about following it.  Once we have a clear direction, it would be less stressful in your day-to-day life.

Most of us don’t have maids.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we did?  We can enlist the help of our children or husbands.  It’s important that we take charge of our lives.  Don’t allow life to manage you.

Proverbs 31:16

“She considers a field before she

buys or accepts it, with her savings

she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard.”

This Proverbs 31 woman is a great business woman.  She is not hasty or makes purchases on a whim or by her emotions.  She saves her money and educates herself to make her money work for her and her family.  She is a great investor.  She takes the time to lay out a blueprint of her plan.  It will take time and patience to build up that vineyard, but she knows it will be a wise investment.

This woman is not only enthusiastic about her work, but she continues to strive do better.  She does not get sad or bored with her day to day task.  She looks at each day with an opportunity to do better.  By doing her work with a positive attitude, she is knows that she is also improving herself.  The Proverbs woman finds joy in her work and also keeps herself in shape as she works vigorously.
